How does a lobster grow? And why is it important to those carrying Anxiety?

Anxiety

I have never been the largest fan of Rabbis.  But this guy Twersky is cool. He is a Psychiatrist, Psychologist, and he looks very unusual.  That makes him even more interesting.

He speaks of the lobster — a very mushy animal, sweet-tasting to some–with a hard shell that encases and protects him/her.  But as the lobster grows, that very shell that was so protective becomes very confining and even suffocating.  And here is Twersky’s story about that:

This creates stress and anxiety.  So, what does the lobster do?  It swims down and tucks himself under a rock, safe from predatory fish (octopuses mostly), and sheds his shell – and grows a bigger and harder one. And this continues over time again and again as the lobster continues to grow.

The stimulus for the lobster to grow is for it to grow uncomfortable. And extended discomfort creates anxiety.

Now, if the lobster were a person, he would simply go to a doctor and get a Xanax, Percocet, Valium – whatever.  And then, he would feel fine.  But… HE WOULD NEVER THEN CAST OFF HIS SHELL.  And he would then never grow. He would remain small, and vulnerable – unaware of the need to change. He would depend on the pills forever.

What can we draw from this analogy?  Times of growth are also times of stress. And – we can grow through adversity. Or, we can remain small, anxious, and miserable without pills.

How does Constructive Hypnotherapy employ these principles, as presented by Rabbi Twersky??

We cannot shed our shell, nor our skin. But Constructive Hypnotherapy will enable you to shed your metaphorically/figuratively self-induced shell and build that larger one which enables you to move forward in life with courage, built with all of those internal truths/constructs already held by your unconscious mind. Your unconscious mind already has beautiful designs for your next “shell.”

And, I provide through Constructive Hypnosis that very safe rock under which your unconscious mind protects you from all those predatory fish while you access those wonderful new designs.

Be that lobster!  Grow, prosper and swing a large claw. Constructive Hypnosis will help you.
